Vita

When it comes to art and painting I am self-taught - I started drawing as soon as I could hold a pencil and over the years I combined my passion for horses with art. The roots of horses in the history of art reach as far back as to cave paintings and they still accompany us in modern life – as faithful and impressive partners in leisure and sports. Every animal has its own individual personality and deserves to be remembered. And how could I possibly remember something better than through a drawing…

I was born and raised in Stralsund, a cosy coastal town in the north of Germany. After having finished highschool I went to Paris as an au pair girl and then moved on to the Netherlands one year later. I studied Animal Husbandry in Wageningen (Netherlands) with special focus on horses, so, my professional life will most likely be dedicated to the equine sector. I then continued my studies in Rostock in Germany and aquired a Master's Degree in Livestock Science. Subsequently, I worked as a research assitant for the Research Institute for Farm Animal Biology in Dummerstorf, where finished my dissertation in 2021.  As of January 2020 I work as an officer for horse husbandry for the Saxon State Office for Environment, Agriculture and Geology and get to spend each day with the living cultural heritage that is the horse.

In the course of different internships and exchange semesters I went to Belmont (Ireland), Vienna (Austria), Brisbane (Australia) and back to my native region Mecklenburg West-Pomerania. Naturally, pencil and paper are always to be found in my suitcase.
